House Tour

Our 2000 sq ft “cottage” is a bungalow in a bustling downtown core of a suburb just 30 mins outside of Chicago.

This house is a new build, but you’d never know it because the outside blends well with the surrounding homes, and many layers of vintage, antique, and repurposed finds have been incorporated in to this home. The surrounding homes are similar in stature and shape, and we had to go through a design review process with the loval town hall in order to build.

The front garden is an oasis of native plants and pollinators for monarch butterflies and bees. All of the plants were lovingly transplanted here from a neighbor’s yard that was undergoing changes. The inside of the home has modern high ceilings with a one-of-a-kind custom kitchen that has cabinets built right into the vaulted ceilings. The kitchen island is an 85-year-old general store counter that has been lovingly restored to function well for our young family of four.
