Don’t you just love an easy #upcycle?

I first revealed the instructions for transforming this lonesome, $7 barstool into a trendy, scandinavian-style milking stool, on instagram.

With just a bit of elbow grease and attention, I was able to create a one-of-a-kind accent piece like the ones being sold online and in stores like Serena & Lily.

I first sanded the stool down, then distressed it with a hammer and circular hand saw. Finally, I cut the legs off of the stool so that it now sits a foot off of the ground.

Finally, I stained it with eco-friendly coffee and tea to achieve a rustic, old world feel.
